Who we are

This site is operated by Business Media Platform (BMP), a social-first media platform covering business openings, launches, restaurants, shops, franchises and brands across London, Surrey and Sussex. Our website address is https://businessmediaplatform.com.

What we collect

The only information we ask for is what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your business or company name, your email address, your role, the area you are in, the topic of your enquiry and your message. We collect nothing else about you, and there is no other form on this site.

When you send the form we also store a one-way hashed version of your network address for a short period. This is used only to stop the same visitor submitting the form dozens of times in a row. It is not stored in a form we can read, it is not linked to your enquiry, and it is discarded automatically.

Why we collect it

To read your enquiry and reply to it. That is the whole purpose. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not profile you, and we do not use your details to advertise to you.

Who we share it with

Nobody. Your enquiry is stored privately on this website, and a copy is emailed to our own inbox so that we see it and can reply. It is visible only to us. We do not sell, rent or pass on your details.

Two third parties are involved in serving the site itself. Our web host stores the site and its database, including your enquiry, and carries the email notification to us. Google Fonts serves the typefaces the site is set in, which means your browser requests those font files from Google when a page loads. We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising service on this site.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as they are useful to the conversation they started, and no longer. If you would like yours deleted, ask us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at info@businessmediaplatform.com, at the postal address above, or through the contact page, and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we start doing something new with your information — adding analytics, for example — we will update this page before we do it.
